Health & Safety

When it comes to Health & Safety, we take our responsibility seriously. To ensure the health and safety of all of our employees, sub-contracted labour and the public, will ensure the following:
 
  • Adequate control of the health & safety risks arising from our work activities
  • Ensure that all hazards are identified, and regular assessments of risks are undertaken
  • Consultation with employees on all matters affecting their health & safety at work
  • Adequate information, instruction and supervision for all employees is provided
  • We prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health wherever possible
  • Ensure safe handling and use of articles and substances
  • Provide and maintain safe plant, equipment and vehicles
  • Have access to competent advice and are able to secure compliance with our statutory duties
  • Review and revise this policy where necessary and at periods not exceeding one year

 In order that we can achieve our objectives, and ensure our employees recognize their duties under health & safety legislation whilst at work, we ensure that we inform them of their duty to take reasonable care of themselves and others that may be affected by their activities.

The Environment

The whole construction industry has the responsibility to continually push for imrovement in this area, as technology and new methods of working evolve around us, we look to embrace them as soon as is practicable. To do this, we have set out our objectives which can be see below.
 
  • make efficient use of natural resources by conserving energy and water, minimising waste and recycling where possible
  • meet our duty of care requirements in relation to waste by ensuring the safe keeping, transportation and subsequent recovery or disposal of waste
  • use recycled construction materials whenever these can be commercially justified
  • keep transport use to a minimum and regularly service vehicles to maintain their efficiency
  • work with suppliers to ensure they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of their products and transportation
  • include environmental considerations in investment decisions for new plant, equipment or working practices
  • inform and train all employees of the companies environmental objectives and how they can assist in meeting targets
  • use the most environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible

Dan, Duncan and the wonderful BB team have done an exceptional job refurbishing our Youth Centre and Parish Office. We work with the design team to plan, manage and co-ordinate the construction phase. Duncan Baldwin MCIOB, Construction Director, administers all of the large projects so the client has a direct link with an influential person within the company. All of our subcontractors have been vetted and put through out pre-qualification process which allows the client to rest assured that all work is carried out with competence, precision and expertise.

Direct To Client

A service which is personal and adaptable in approach. Works can commence quickly and is carefully tailored to the clients timelines and budgets. All costs will be quoted in advance giving you the reassurance of a fixed sum job. You will be designated a Project Manager to oversee your project so that you have a single point of contact to speak with throughout, which will ensure a smooth, stress-free renovation.

We know this sector of work very well and that means we understand the needs of the clients as if it was our own heartbeat. Our in house team of tradesmen are able to handle all tasks such as disabled adaptations, Wetroom Installations, Damp, Mould & Condensation work, Structural Faults and general disrepair cases. We are also approved with the NHS which is where we really shine with our accreditations such as Contructionline Gold, Safecontractor, ROSPA plus our Preconstruction planning, assured that all site work is carried out safely and to precision in highly regulated environments.
